Logo-1.jpgPakistan Peace and Solidarity Council strongly condemn the attack on Imam Bargah Rawalpindi, Punjab Province. The attack killed 8 people and leaving a few other injured. The attacks after the Peshawar Army Public school are increasing. Another attack on the play ground in Orakzai Agency killed five youth. These are not the only incident to kill people in bomb blast, suicide attacks and target killings in the different parts of the country. Last year in Peshawar city a Church was attacked killing more than 150 Christians. In the recent days the sectarian attacks also increased against shias, Hazaras and peace committees activists in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and FATA. Last month’s attack in Wahaga Pak-India boarder near Lahore in which 50 precious lives were lost. This decade long violence have disturbed the country’s security, political and social conditions.  This is the continuation of the deadly actions against the minorities, liberal and secular citizens of the country.

This attack is taking place soon after the announcement of the establishment of military courts to counter the extremist’s terrorist attacks. Taliban have been continuously giving threats, kidnap and frequently attacking the citizens and forces but still no action is taken against them. Still the schools are closed in the country due to these threats.

Pakistan Peace and Solidarity Council shows its full solidarity with these survivors of violence and demands immediate actions from the government to restore the law and order and protect the lives of the citizens.  The survivors and their families need long term rehabilitation and to ensure the safety and protection of their lives and property in future. The citizens must be given honor, dignity and protection.
